The year is 2023 and it is one of the best years video games have ever seen, only... it hasn't been that great actually.
Some of the biggest blockbusters have launched this year and the industry growth has been exponential, yet a devastating amount of game developers have been laid off globally.
Many are finding themselves without a job, and also fatigue and heartbreak from the lack of humane practices in the industry.
And even if you haven’t been affected personally, you most likely know someone who has or feeling the pressure. We’re all doing something we care about, having that ripped away is not easy to bounce back from.
This was the founding reason for this event, to support and lift each other up!
Let’s come together one last time in 2023 to support each other and make new meaningful connections to start strong in the market in 2024.
We can all help by providing each other kindness, compassion, and new connections. Strengthen the foundation of our community and support each other for the year to come, whether it’s lending an ear, extending an opportunity, or hyping each other up.
